Tableau 8.0 comes with inbuilt statistical models which enable users to predict future values based on historical data.
Now, with this feature, Tableau enables anybody with a little or no programming language to forecast trends if he has access to appropriate historical data. The real usage of forecasting can be complex; the accuracy will depend on the quality of historical data.
One of my recent projects involved calling a Web Service from SSIS to populate current currency conversion rates on a daily process. During this process, I encountered some errors that I’d like to discuss here. (more…)
